Bénédicte de Nonneville

drawing, mixed media

Bénédicte de Nonneville, who works as E Sistan, is a London-based artist

exploring the porous intersections of language, gesture and identity. Working

in ink and nib, paint and mark-making, she builds layered compositions that

balance meditative precision with energetic gesture, playing scale, repetition

and rhythm against one another. Her work sits in the delicate space between

revealing and withholding identity and memory, drawing on feminist theory and

poetry.

She is currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at the Royal College

of Art in London. Recent exhibitions include "Drawing From All Sides" at

Hockley Gallery, London (2025) and a show at Galeria Azur, Madrid (2023).
